I'm Christina.
I started this art blog for two reasons. The first reason being obvious...I believe in art! I studied Art History during my undergrad, and fell in love with it all.
The second being the fantastic use of non-traditional materials being used in contemporary art today! There is nothing wrong with the traditional oil paint on canvas that has continued to be the standard for what many people see as "fine art." However, there are so many fun, creative, and mesmerizing materials and methods that can be used to create beautiful art! That is why I tend to focus on artists that primarily use elements of craft, collage, and all things under the sun to create their wonderful works of art. In a world where everything seems to have already been done, it is always reassuring to see that new creativity still exists! I want this blog to inspire people and make them feel like they can create something completely unique and new for the world!
I'm originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. Although a small city, it has a thriving art scene with many talented artists. I now live in a very different place with a landscape much different than midwestern flatlands and corn. With art that often reflects the dusty, mountainous landscape that is Arizona, I am excited to see what this city's artists have to offer!
