These other worldly beings are both oddly familiar and somewhat foreign. We can all relate to wrapping ourselves up in a blanket for comfort, but something is a little off in each of these scenes. All of the faces our hidden. Not only that, but some of these images are obscured by unnatural light and mist. This Toronto based photographer Brendan George is a master of creating ethereal and beautiful imagery that suggest narrative. George says that this particular series, The Barking Wall, is reminiscent of childhood memories of hiding by covering his face with his hands.
His own explanation of his work is almost as magical as his photographs.
"Applied layer after layer, these confused memories let go of specific places and time, and drift like phantoms, roaming free through the fields of imagination, meeting the visitor half-way, and letting one create their own narrative."
