Remember when the only color photography available was black and white film that had been hand painted? ...yeah, I don't either. I had no idea how beautiful this old school method could be until I saw these hand painted photographs by Singapore based artist Genevieve Chua. This particular series of Chua's, titled After the Flood, depict scenes of foliage that have survived despite of flooding in Singapore. The green traces the vines that flourish, expand, and engulf the area.
It is always refreshing to see seemingly digitally altered photographs that have actually been manipulated by hand. Although digital photography has its advantages, black and white film photography will always hold a beauty of its own!
